Is blepharoplasty right for me?
Everyone ages differently. If your own signs of aging seem to concentrate around the eyes-in sagging and drooping of the upper eyelids, bags and hollowed areas below the eyes, or both - blepharoplasty can help reverse those effects to rejuvenate your appearance. The ideal blepharoplasty patient is generally healthy, has realistic expectations for the procedure, and an overall healthy self-image.

How long will the results of eyelid surgery last?
Like many other cosmetic surgery procedures, blepharoplasty turns back the clock on the signs of aging, but it doesn't stop it entirely. You will not always look the way you did right after the eyelid surgery procedure, but you should always look considerably younger than you would if you hadn't had the blepharoplasty.

Which type of eyelid surgery procedure is right for me?
The type of blepharoplasty procedure that is right for you depends on where your problems are. If you have drooping and sagging of the upper eyelids, an upper lid blepharoplasty is probably right for you. If you have bags or sagging skin under the eyes, a lower lid blepharoplasty will help resolve your problems.

Will I have scarring?
The incisions for blepharoplasty procedures are either obscured or completely hidden, depending on the type of procedure. In a lower lid blepharoplasty, your incisions will either be concealed inside the lower eyelid, or along the lash line; and for an upper lid blepharoplasty, the incisions are made along the natural contours of the upper eyelid, so any scarring is naturally obscured by the folds of the eyelids.

How long is the healing process following eyelid surgery?
In many cases, patients can be back to non-strenuous activities within a day or so. However, your surgeon may recommend that you curtail unnecessary activities for at least a week, to aid in your recovery following the procedure. Most eyelid surgery patients have bruising around the eyes for about a week following the procedure, and the incisions from a blepharoplasty tend to heal quickly due to the thinness of the skin around the eyes.
