Choosing a Newport Beach Cosmetic Surgeon

Questions To Ask When
Considering A Cosmetic Surgeon

Serving Beverly Hills, Los Angeles,
Newport Beach, & Orange County, California

When choosing a cosmetic surgeon, many patients really aren't sure what to ask, or how to determine whether their doctor is the best choice for them. Unfortunately, this leads many patients to simply choose based on factors such as price and convenience, which can be a mistake.

As with many other things, you often get what you pay for with cosmetic surgery.

What experience do you have with the procedure you'll be performing?

Even if your cosmetic surgeon has been in practice for some time, you may want to ask how much experience he or she has with your specific cosmetic surgery procedure. Particularly with emerging new techniques and technologies, it is important to ensure that your surgeon has the skills and experience necessary to perform the procedure.

Where will the procedure be performed?

Depending on the type procedure , your surgery may be performed in a hospital, our surgical operating room or in a treatment room. Ask your surgeon where the procedure will take place. Most surgical procedures will take place in our in house surgical facility. It is accredited by AAAASF (American Association for the Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgical Facilities). It is the highest level of accreditation available for an operating room facility.

What other staff will be available during the procedure?

If you are going to be under general sedation, in addition to Dr. Bray, a dedicated anesthesiologist will be attending the procedure. Also, you will have a registered nurse and a surgical scrub technician. All of our dedicated staff work with Dr. Bray to provide you with the ultimate care you deserve in the safest setting possible.

May I see some examples of your work?

An experienced, skilled cosmetic surgeon will usually have examples of his or her previous work available. Ask to see before and after cosmetic surgery photos, particularly of procedures similar to the one you are considering.

Is this procedure right for me?

Not every procedure is right for every patient, and an ethical and responsible cosmetic surgeon will make every effort to ensure that his or her patients are all healthy, realistic, and otherwise mentally and physically prepared for the procedure. A cosmetic surgeon will not try to sell you on a procedure you don't want, or encourage you to consider procedures that would be ineffective or carry unnecessary risks.

If you're considering a cosmetic procedure and would like to know more, call or email us today to schedule a consultation. We promise to answer any questions you have-even the hard ones.
