Is cosmetic surgery right for me?
Cosmetic surgery might be right for you if you are generally healthy and are self-conscious or unhappy with certain specific aspects of your appearance. If you have certain types of chronic health problems, if you are severely depressed, or if you suffer from extreme problems with your self-esteem and body image, cosmetic surgery may not be the right solution. See our article How do I qualify for a cosmetic surgery procedure? for more information on deciding whether cosmetic surgery is right for you.

What is the difference between a breast lift and a breast augmentation?
A breast lift is a procedure that resculpts your natural breasts, moving them higher up on the chest, and reshaping them to appear more firm and youthful. A breast augmentation involves adding a breast implant to increase the size of your breasts. Many women have these procedures done in conjunction, both repositioning the natural breasts, and enhancing them at the same type. In some cases, too, a breast augmentation procedure can serve to lift and firm the natural breasts sufficiently that a breast lift isn't needed.

If you're considering either or both plastic surgery procedures, make an appointment for a consultation today, and Dr. Bray will be able to help you assess your specific issues, and recommend the procedure that will help you achieve the results you're looking for.

Will my health insurance pay for cosmetic procedures?
Most health insurance plans do not provide coverage for procedures done solely for cosmetic reasons. Some exceptions to this might include such things as breast reconstruction for mastectomy patients, breast reduction for patients with medical problems due to oversized breasts, and rhinoplasties for patients with breathing problems.

If you are interested in financing plans for cosmetic surgery procedures, see our financing page for details on some of our available payment options.

What kind of skin treatment is right for my problem?
Modern aesthetics and cosmetic surgery offers a wide range of solutions for skin problems of all types. From gentle treatments for fine wrinkling and dullness, to more dramatic solutions for more serious problems, Bray Plastic Surgery Medical Center offers solutions customized to your problems, your goals, and your budget. See our Customized Skin Care section for detailed descriptions of some of the many procedures we offer, or schedule an appointment for a consultation today, and we'll recommend solutions tailored just for you.

Are liposuction, tummy tucks, and other procedures effective techniques for weight loss?
While many of the body sculpting procedures we offer do result in some weight loss, they do not constitute an effective weight loss technique overall. Liposuction, abdominoplasty, body lifts, and other cosmetic surgery procedures are most effective as tools to address specific fat deposits that have been resistant to diet and exercise, so we recommend that our patients adopt healthy, consistent, and sensible diet and exercise habits, and use cosmetic surgery as a technique to 'fine tune' their results.

How can I best reverse the signs of aging?
We all age, but we all age differently. Some patients first notice significant signs of aging as their skin begins to lose its elasticity and their features begin to sag. Others notice the effects as their eyelids begin to droop or they develop bags. Yet others may develop sagging skin around their necks.

Whatever your most troublesome signs of aging, Bray Plastic Surgery Medical Center offers a range of treatment options, from customized skin treatments to facelifts, eyelid lifts, neck lifts, and other procedures that can turn back the clock on your unique aging process.

If you have any questions not covered here, or if you're ready to discuss your options with our caring, knowledgeable cosmetic surgery staff, call or email us today to schedule a cosmetic surgery consultation.
