What is a Mommy Makeover?
Usually there are at least two parts to the Mommy Makeover. The main procedure is an Abdominoplasty (tummy tuck), frequently coupled with some areas of liposuction. This procedure involves surgical tightening of the interior muscles of the abdomen. Then the skin is pulled taut over the area, and excess skin is removed and carefully sutured into place, leaving a smooth surface without sagging. Liposuction is a procedure designed to sculpt and contour the body, bringing it into more pleasing proportion by targeting specific areas of fat that have not been affected by diet and exercise.
The second part of the Mommy Makeover involves some sort of breast enhancement, which can vary greatly depending on the individual patient. Some women actually lose breast tissue after breast-feeding, and a simple implant augmentation can bring them back to their pre-pregnancy fullness. Many women actually opt for extra fullness at this point having enjoyed the increase in breast size that goes with breast-feeding. Other women may have too much sagging and require some sort of breast lift. Regardless of what your needs are, there is no reason for today's moms to have to settle for their post-pregnancy bodies if they want improvements made.
