Is a rhinoplasty right for me?
Rhinoplasty, like many cosmetic surgery procedures, can make a big difference in your appearance. It can improve your self-confidence and self esteem, but only if you have realistic expectations of the nose surgery procedure and the difference a change in appearance can make in your overall perspective. If you have breathing problems caused by a malformed septum, or if you are dissatisfied with the appearance of your nose, and if you are in general good health, you may be a candidate for rhinoplasty.
Can a rhinoplasty correct problems with a nose that's been broken?
Yes. Each rhinoplasty procedure is designed to meet the patient's specific needs, and address any physical problems. If you've broken your nose and it requires cosmetic repair, or correction for breathing problems, a rhinoplasty nose surgery procedure may be able to resolve those problems.
How long will the results of a rhinoplasty last?
The nose does not change significantly during the aging process, so the results of your rhinoplasty procedure will be effectively permanent.
How long is the recovery time?
Recovery times following nose surgery vary depending on the patient and the type of procedure, but in most cases, patients are able to return to most normal activities within five days to a week, and should be mostly recovered within two to four weeks.
Can a single rhinoplasty procedure correct my breathing problems and leave me with a better looking nose, too?
Yes. Because each nose surgery procedure is designed to correct the specific problems the patient has with his or her nose, a single procedure can effectively resolve multiple problems, including correcting breathing problems and cosmetic issues in a single procedure.
